RPM Automotive can restore your headlights to a like new condition and offers a permanent solution to correct those foggy lenses.
Headlights are composed of a polycarbonate plastic which is factory sprayed with a coating to protect the lens from UV damage and chips. Ongoing environmental assaults will wear away the coating over time exposing the porous surface of polycarbonate plastic to environmental and chemical hazards like pollution, UV radiation, and gravel leading to discoloration and fogging of the lens’ surface. This can prove dangerous as oxidized and foggy lenses can drastically reduce your headlights lumen output decreasing visibility at night and during stormy weather.
the details matter
Whether you hit a pot hole, curb, or are subjected to road debris, many drivers find that curb rash is inevitable. However, there is good news, as most damage is reversible, or at a minimum, can be reduced substantially to a like new appearance. You can also change the color or look of your wheels by powder coating them after the repair process.
Despite the route you take to improve the look or finish of your wheels, we always recommend having any damage repaired prior to selling your vehicle, as it will not only improve the appearance of your vehicle, but it will also suggest to a buyer that the vehicle was well cared for, helping you to negotiate a higher rate.
back to black
Measures can be taken to protect new plastics from fading caused by UV exposure over time. For plastics that have already begun to fade, RPM Automotive can restore them through a dyeing process, or by heating them to draw oils back to the plastic’s surface which restores the original color.
